MOBILE USE IS LINKED TO BRAIN TUMOURS
LONG-term mobile phone users could face a higher risk of developing cancer in later life, according to a decade-long study.
The report, to be published later this year, has reportedly found that heavy mobile use is linked to brain tumours.
The survey of 12,800 people in 13 countries has been overseen by the World Health Organisation.
Preliminary results of the inquiry, which is looking at whether mobile phone exposure is linked to three types of brain tumour and a tumour of the salivary gland, have been sent to a scientific journal.
The findings are expected to put pressure on the British Government – which has insisted that mobile phones are safe – to issue stronger warnings to users.

The real problem is innumeracy. I you wear a blue doughnut on your head, some of you will get cancer.
If you are sick and perform a “blood-letting”, some will be cured. I am not sure if is still in use but doctors use diathermy machines to warm certain parts of the body for therapeutic purposes. This was done via penetrating electromagnetic waves. The optimum frequency seems to be 800 to 1200MHz in order to penetrate deep enough past the skull. The radio wave length, however has to be short enough to allow for a localized differential from closed A-B points within the tissue. Another source of innumeracy is the fear of the 60Hz/50Hz powerlines. Even at 1million volts at 200 ft up, the fullwave at 60Hz, or so, the full wavelength comes to 1.56 million feet or 256 miles!
The triple or dual power wires overhead also act as a transmission line, canceling out emission even further. With a cell phone you have to ask: Does heating by itself cause cancer? I am a ham radio operator. I even build transmitters on my bench. An average cellphone emits about 0.6watts peak in the USA when a weak signal is detected. If you keep it on when on the subway or our of range it will beacon on high power every so often and wen on in a fringe area, more power will be used. We have fanatics in long Island that want the cell site removed of their water tower because they feel that the water could be poisoned. This is what we are dealing with. Ignorance in the absolute. They would rather have blacked-out areas devoid of emergency communication that their water and children “irradiated” all the time. A cell site a hundred feet up, 2 blocks away is effectively hundreds of thousands of times weaker than a cell held up to your head anyway. I find that more people are using Blue Tooth technology which runs at about 5GHz at a few tens of milliwatts. Frequencies this high have trouble penetration into the deep tissue. In order to do that, one must delve much, much further up to the point where we have particle radiation where photons are excited by many hundreds of thousands of volts in a very short distance. These are called X-Rays. They have millions of times the energy that cell phones exhibit per given length of space. Their wavelength is so small, on the order of 1.5 Angstroms, UV is at 300-250 Angstroms [300 A. = 30 nanometers = 30 Billionths of a meter] Compare that to a cellphone wavelength of 250 millimeters! Is that a difference or what? 30nm is UV. it’s wavelength is so small that it can interact with chemical bonds causing a tan burn. X-Rays at 1.5nm ,1.5 Billionths of a meter, is so short it can alter cells and their DNA with prolonged exposure. You would require perhaps as much as 200 years of continuous exposure to a cellphone transmission to equal a couple of days of UV exposure and a fraction of a minute of X-ray exposure. These situations MUST be placed into perspective. Driving or walking while using a cellphone is countless of times more dangerous, but people have far less fear regarding tempting fate with that. Trying to deal with the love/hate relationship we have with technology is a constant in human nature. What, me worry?

I always use the speaker phone or blue-tooth, I think this will be a bigger deal later when the cell phone companies cannot buy their way out of it.
